Optimize acoustic fingerprint identification with files with long introduction
I have noticed that music files with long introduction (starting) have less chances to be identified... is there a way to make the search based on a longer part of the music file?
6 votesMetatogger uses the Acoustid service for acoustic fingerprinting. Only the first 120 seconds of the song is used for computing the fingerprint.

Make batch cover finder available
Make it possible to download automatically the cover art of all the albums in the list.
Great additional features to this would be :
- the possibility of chosing the minimum definition of the cover
- a pop up window to chose the right cover when there is a dispute
between cover arts
- the possibility to chose different databases : "discogs, last.fm, rateyourmusic, amazon, etc...)37 votes -
Have the possibility to select a UPnP device for playing
When asking to play something, it would be very intersesting to have the possibility to select a UPnP device if it exist on the network.

Fulfill automatically the year of publication
When finding the year of several song, it can be hard:
- In automatically way, only possible with the database (should be also with acoustical fingerprint)
- The database find album's years, and not publication's year of the songs (I have to find the oldest album which contains my song to estimate the publication, and this manually!)
- With database, too many operation has to be made manually (selection of songs only one by one, research, finding the oldest album in my case, fulfill, remove then the album name because I just want the year, save)
Solution:

Using other databases such as Last.fm
Using the free database of Last.fm or other to make the tagging better and with more fields.

Metatogger is a WPF application. WPF is not available under Linux (even with .NET Core 3).

Import tags from a text file
I truly believe that this is the BEST tag editor except that it is missing two features that have kept me from using it full time. Metatogger needs an easy way to import tags from a text file. I use MP3Tag because it has that feature and it is a real time saver. It would also be nice if you supported the tagging of AAC files as well...

Add support for ITUNESADVISORY tag in M4A files
Currently, trying to add the ITUNESADVISORY tag to mark Explicit and Clean versions of a track gives an error saying the tag is not supported in ALAC files. MP3Tag does write the tag correctly though and it's recognised in iTunes.
1 voteMetatogger uses the taglib library to read and write tags. And taglib doesn’t support the ITUNESADVISORY Apple specific tag.

Autocomplete tags in song
Metatogger can search for lyrics and load it to tags, it's really great. But it can't autocomplete the others ones. Why? If it finds lyris by Title and Artist it could write Genre, Year, Cover, etc. Please, make it possible
1 voteUnfortunately, the service used to identify files by acoustic fingerprint only returns reliably the title and the artist name of each track. Indeed, Metatogger cannot know the disk from which the identified track is extracted (single, album, compilation, etc.), making it difficult to retrieve the title of the album, year of release, etc.

Release a OSX version
On OSX there isn't a software as good as Metatogger!

Gracenote has more Karaoke listings.
