    You have left! (?) (thinking…)
How important is this to you?

There is no portable version of Metatogger because some important checks are performed on the system at install time, such as verifying software prerequisites, downloaded and installed if necessary (just the Visual C ++ Runtime in the latest version).

2021 update : with .NET self-contained deployment option, the system software requirements to use Metatogger are becoming less and less constraining.

Furthermore, the configuration file is stored in the user’s home directory, and not in the folder from which the software is launched. These files are only deleted when the software is uninstalled.

Using Metatogger in portable mode would not offer an optimal user experience.

You can always add a configuration file(f.e. portable.conf) to the folder where the program's executable resides, then when program is launched you can check if the file exists, if so - work with it instead of the file in the user's home directory.
