Add shell integration3 votes
There is already a type of shell integration as you can right click on folder in the file explorer and select “Open with Metatogger”. What more do you expect? Thanks.

Hi, do you also prepare a 64bit version?
PS: any possibility to rename files with simply ARTIST - Song.mp3 (like, for example, with Tag&Rename) ?
Can you adda the shell integration with the system? (ie when you right click a file Meatogger option to search for the file name)
Thank you! Great job, thinking about a donation!22 votes
A 64 bits version of Metatogger is not planned. Why do you want a 64 bits version? Do you have any memory issue?
I use Windows 7 and that program is a little slow, so I propose to speed it up....
BUT THIS PROGRAM IS GREAT!!!!!6 votes
Could you describe what part of the sofware you find slow? cold start? gui interaction? file loading/saving time (with what kind of audio format: MP3, FLAC, etc) ? Thanks.
Currently, trying to add the ITUNESADVISORY tag to mark Explicit and Clean versions of a track gives an error saying the tag is not supported in ALAC files. MP3Tag does write the tag correctly though and it's recognised in iTunes.1 vote
Metatogger uses the taglib library to read and write tags. And taglib doesn’t support the ITUNESADVISORY Apple specific tag.
You will find in the following source code all MP4 tags supported by taglib (take a look at the ‘keyTranslation’ array):
If you think taglib should support this tag, feel free to open an issue here:
It would be possible for him to be able to check the lyrics of the songs and give the option to change the one wrong for the other. Is that I have some that are wrong and only gives the option to delete them all and put back the program. I love your program, thank you.

It is true that it is not possible to rectify incorrect lyrics via Metatogger. Nevertheless, Metatogger retrieves the lyrics from LyricWiki database (http://lyrics.wikia.com/wiki/LyricWiki): it is therefore possible to correct (or add) any lyrics directly on that site.
I'm testing a lot of music taggers in Windows and one thing they all lack is to add the original date of a recording.
When playing a greatest hits album of the 80s which was put on the market in 2005 you have a problem because suddenly all these 80s song have a date of 2005. see https://community.metabrainz.org/t/how-to-get-picard-writing-the-original-release-date-year-of-a-recording/355388
Luckily, I found a tagger (beets) that searches for the original date, but it is a command line driven approach.
I hope Metatogger can implement what they cooked togheter.
Their solution is found on https://github.com/tweitzel/beets-recordingdate9 votes
My collection is a mix of albums and singles (1-4 tracks). For an artist, I'd like to arrange the albums in a folder per album, but the singles in together in one folder. To achieve this, it would be helpful to identify 'albums' that have 4 or less tracks. I can group by album, which shows the count of tracks per group, so I'd like to be able to filter by the count.
Great bit of software, thanks!2 votes
Hi guys, your program is awsome. Althoug I can't find list refreshing button anywhere. If I loaded a bunch of file and I edit it outside the program I can't refresh it to show the new information. Please add it, I use this a lot of time in other programs :)
Thank you and have a great day1 vote
you need a part of a compilation which offers you yes or no1 vote
I use MP3Tag and Metatogger. MP3Tag is infinitely flexible and creating automation is MUCH easier. The application can be configured and customized to add what I need. No such customization is possible with Metatogger and its the only reason that I don't use it for all my tagging needs.1 vote
Can you specify which new feature (based on customization) you are requesting?
Trumpet:Miles Davis,Saxofon:John Coltrane; etc
this is very usefull for Jazz Fans. should be also shown in player.
Normaly I get this Information from Discogs. See my sample1 vote
There is no official “involved people” (TIPL) or “musician credits list” (TMCL) in FLAC tag format (Vorbis Comment) as you have in MP3 ID3v2.
You can use “PERFORMER:” to add musician credits list (PERFORMER:Trumpet=Maalouf). But you will have no guarantee of support in your audio player…
Would be amazing if in some way we could add artist cover to work with Windows 10 Groove Music. But I have to admit that should be a Microsoft limitation.1 vote
Windows and Groove doesn’t support ID3 v2.4 in MP3 audio files.

As any WPF app, Metatogger should scale well if you adjust the Windows DPI display size setting.

I don’t understand your suggestion. You can already add all custom tags you want.
Metatogger can search for lyrics and load it to tags, it's really great. But it can't autocomplete the others ones. Why? If it finds lyris by Title and Artist it could write Genre, Year, Cover, etc. Please, make it possible1 vote
Unfortunately, the service used to identify files by acoustic fingerprint only returns reliably the title and the artist name of each track. Indeed, Metatogger cannot know the disk from which the identified track is extracted (single, album, compilation, etc.), making it difficult to retrieve the title of the album, year of release, etc.
There is no portable version of Metatogger because some important checks are performed on the system at install time, such as verifying software prerequisites, downloaded and installed if necessary (XAudio2, Visual C ++ Runtime, LocalDB,. NET Framework).
Furthermore, the configuration file is stored in the user’s home directory, and not in the folder from which the software is launched.
Using Metatogger in portable mode would not offer an optimal user experience.
